Last Day of the Year

It is the last day of the year. Looking back...this year has been full of wonderful blessings. My son Ike, started preschool in a big school,

Gee started in a new account and I began to teach grade school and of course the most important blessing of all is receiving our new angel Tatianna.

Thank you so much Lord for the blessings and I pray that in the coming year our blessings will be doubled.

So while waiting for the new year I send the day taking care of the kids and finishing my last layout for the year. It is a Christmas layout done for the last and final challenge over at Scrap-it-Lah. Their challenge is:

December’s Challenge

You need to please include:-

1.    Multi-photo layout using Christmas photos (at least 3) or,
2.    if you don’t celebrate Christmas, photos from a
3.    similar celebration (no birthdays please!)
4.    Glitter or glimmer mist somewhere on your layout.
5.    Traditional Christmas colours of red/green/gold (compulsory)
6.    plus only ONE other colour OF YOUR CHOICE
7.    (Both plain and printed papers are fine as long as you stick to the colours).

This is the layout I made:

And here is the wonderful prize that is up for grabs:

It is so sad that this will be their last challenge...I always enjoy creating layouts based on their challenges and of course their prizes are so great! To Scrap-it-Lah I will miss you...

And finally before I end this post allow me to leave with this note:

Welcome Helga Tatianna!

Our little Princess Helga Tatianna arrived last November 2, 2011, two hours and eighteen minutes after my birthday. At first, I was hoping to give birth on 11/11/11, but since my OB will be out on a convention I began hoping for an 11/01/11 childbirth...my birthday. That day went on a scrapping session with my scrappy friends. Then later that day at around 5p.m. we went to visit the tomb of my parents and attended mass. After the mass my sisters and I decided to have a pizza session at my sister's house at faculty village to celebrate my birthday. The whole family was there. We ate pizza then roasted marshmallows at my sisters garden. Gosh... I ate none stop! Then at around 9 p.m. I had a bloody show. So they brought me to the hospital. I got admitted at 10 p.m. They attached me to a dextrose and called my OB. I stayed in my room and counted the contractions until I could not bear the pain any longer and the contractions were 2 minutes apart. At once they wheeled me to the OR. Once at the OR the nurses gave me meds to calm me down I was only 4-5cm then. But soon ... after 2-3 contractions my water broke. Then after 4 more contractions the baby began to push on its own. I almost did not reach the OR table! After 3 good pushes Tatianna came out it was already 2:18 a.m. on November 2, 2011.  I heard her cry immediately...then again just like my first birth the pediatricians did not reach the hospital on time. Hehehehe...That is how fast I give birth!

Let the Countdown Begin...

Our little Tatianna turned 1 month last December 2, 2011, I made her a cute little headband using lace and prima flower. Here is a photo taken last December 2:

Lately Ike has been obsessed with countdowns. First he started crossing out the dates towards our birthdays now he is starting to cross out the dates towards Christmas. I guess it has come to a point where he already understands the mechanics of using a calendar and also what Christmas is all about. So I decided to create for him a Christmas Tag countdown. Here are the first 4 days of the countdown:
 December 1

December 2

December 3

December 4

Since my maternity leave I was able to create some new layouts...
I made this layout using Studio Calico kits.

From Breastfeeding to Cloth Diapers.

Hi! Its been a long time since I blogged. I have been so busy becoming a mom over again. This time I am a full time breastfeeder and soon will become a cloth diaper mom. (once my Charlie Banana cloth diapers arrive) Thanks to my BFF Edelyn for introducing me to a lot of mommy stuff like breast feeding and cloth diapers. I have started following Chronicles of a Nursing Mom since I started researching on breast feeding. It is so timely that they just posted that they are having a giveaway sponsored by Caleb's Closet Ecostore.

They are giving away a Charlie Banana cloth diaper.
The exact same brand that I just purchased. So if you want to join too just hope on to this link. Caleb's Closet Giveaway.

Scrap-it-Lah September Challenge

It is already September and there is a new challenge over at Scrap-It-Lah. And this month's challenge is by Helen. She is challenging us to....

Create your own mixed media background, using printed paper as a base.  Be sure to include at least 3 different paint colours in whatever effects you fancy. This can be using stamps,  bubble wrap,  etc etc - its all up to your imagination.

Also ensure that you have at least twelve words on your layout, which can include the title, date (if you want to include one) and the journaling (or even be one REALLY long title if you like!)

We have up to midnight 12pm, 30th of September 2011 (Malaysian time) to submit our layouts. Oh and by the way the winner will be receiving a Studio Calico Kit.

Who would resist not having that RAK? Well, I wouldn't that is why I am joining! So here is my entry:

Here are the details:

I first painted the background paper with blue then randomly stamped with yellow paint using an old place mat. Then I used my brick wall mask to create that brick wall effect.
See that black stamped flowers? I love it so much! I used my Prima foam stamp by Donna Downey.

Materials: Prima "Island Beauty" PP, Prima flowers, Prima foam stamp, Prima alphabet,  Martha Stewart butterfly punch, blings and pearls.

Thanks for dropping by!

Scrap-It-Lah August Challenge

"three things in your layout... stamping, embossing, and misting. Plus there must be at least one raw chipboard to dress up"

Yes, this is Iris's August 2011 challenge for Scrap-It-Lah. Mr. Mojo is back in business that is why I thought of joining this challenge. This time I make sure that joining challenges will not be stressful for me. It came to a point when scrapbooking became stressful because I kept on joining challenges left and right. That is why it took me several months to join again. Well, anyway this challenge really pumped up my mojo. Thanks to the wonderful inspiration from Iris and the Scrap-it-Lah DT's. Here is my layout:

Here is a closer look at the embossing, stamping, misting and my dressed-up chipboard:

Hope you like it! Thanks for dropping by!

Weekend crop with the LB Scrapaholics!

Last weekend LB Scrapaholics did it again! We had our very own version of a Scrap Buffet (originally conceptualized by STUDIO AZUL here in the Philippines). Our goal was to make as many layouts using old scrapbook stuffs that we accumulated over the years. We are to share all the stuff with each other. Just like as actual buffet we can get any stuff we want to use. We had a real feast that night.

Fortunately, Mr. Mojo was back after almost 4 months of absence. I was able to finish 10 layouts! And that includes a double page layout. So here are two layouts that I made that night.

This was the first layout that I made. This is also my very first layout of my current pregnancy. I felt guilty that I have not made any layouts or take pictures to document my current pregnancy. During my first pregnancy I had a very special album to document the monthly growth of my tummy. LOL.

Materials: AC Cardstock, Prima flowers and stamps, Doiley, and some buttons and lace.

And this is my second layout. Gosh I really have to keep up with Ike's school photos. Ike started big school this year and we have already accumulated tons of pictures just to document his school year.

Materials: Papers...Sassafras, October afternoon, Jillibean, DZWV, cosmo cricket, and some chipboards.

Playing with mix media

Yesterday was a very productive day for me. I was able to create 5 layouts! I decided to skip baking and do scrapbooking. I needed to finish some of my Sketchabilities DT work and then after that I did some research on how to use mix media. I found several tutorial videos on net and found art journal very interesting. I love how they play with techniques and how free it is. I love the fact that anything goes and that there is no mistakes. No pressure but only techniques and surprises. My paints have been accumulating dust in the storage. So I decided to bring them out and play with it! Here is the result:

I love the how it turned out. I just sprayed and splattered paint on it. In fact Ike had a little hand on creating this page...he accidentally placed my Samsung cellphone manual on top of the wet paint. But did you notice it? Lol good thing anything goes. LOL ;) Unfortunately I cannot post my other layout as I did it for my DT work but here is a sneak of it:
Watch out for the full page on Sketchabilities this February.

Here is another layout I made but this time I played with mist and some stamping. I love to spray mist on the paper and let it drip. I also used some of my left over Webster's paper from our Iris's kit.

I used the title LOVE YOU FOREVER because that is Ike's favorite story book by Robert Munch. He loves the way I sing to him the song of the mother in the book. That book is very touching. In fact, it got me teary eyed the first time I read it. I bought the book for Ike on his first birthday. It is my symbol of love for him. I want him to be reminded that he will forever be my baby.

Thanks for reading!

Last January 29, 2011 the LB Scrapaholics were fortunate enough to have Master Iris Uy as our Guest here in UP Los Baños. She taught us techniques on misting and distressing. It was really fun! I love the materials in the kit and our outputs! Here are the layouts:
