I've been a sketch addict lately! I've never realized until now how much I miss using sketches in creating my layouts. It just makes scrapbooking easier. So here is a layout I did using sketch #27. It is a layout about Ike's first day of school.

Crazy Sunday

It is a great Sunday! I hope you are having one too. It's book week in our school and there is a book fair sponsored by Scholastics. And boy I fell in love with several of the books that I really would love to read. So I thought of sharing them with you. First book is Book Thief by Markus Zusak


The Book Thief is a young adult novel by Australian author Markus Zusak. Set in Nazi Germany, it describes a young girl's relationship with her foster parents, the other residents of their neighborhood, and a Jewish fist-fighter who hides in her home during the escalation of World War II. Published in 2005, it has won numerous awards and was listed on the New York Times Children's Bestseller List for over one hundred weeks.(from wikipedia)

Next is the The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman.


The Graveyard Book is a children's fantasy novel by English author Neil Gaiman. The story is about a boy named Nobody Owens who, after his family is killed by a mysterious man, is adopted and raised by the occupants of a graveyard. Gaiman's first full-length children's novel since the bestselling and acclaimed Coraline, The Graveyard Book won the 2009 Hugo and Newbery Awards, the 2010 Carnegie Medal, as well as a Locus Award for best YA novel. It was also shortlisted for numerous honors, making it one of the most honored works in recent history.(from Wikipedia)

Next is the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan.

The Lightning Thief is a 2005 fantasy/adventure novel based on Greek mythology, the first young adult novel written by author Rick Riordan. It is the first novel in the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series, which charts the adventures of modern day twelve-year-old Percy Jackson as he discovers he is a demigod, the son of a mortal woman and the Greek god Poseidon. Percy and his friends go on a quest to prevent an apocalyptic war between the Greek gods Zeus, Poseidon and Hades.(wikipedia)

Another book on my wishlist is the book by Pearl Buck...The Good Earth. Which by the way is a novel that was required to us during my 4th year in highschool.

The Good Earth is a novel by Pearl S. Buck published in 1931 and awarded the Pulitzer Prize for the Novel in 1932. The best selling novel in the United States in both 1931 and 1932 , it was an influential factor in Buck winning the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1938. It is the first book in a trilogy that includes Sons (1932) and A House Divided (1935).
The novel of family life in a Chinese village before the 1949 Revolution was a best-seller in both 1931 and 1932 and has been a steady favorite ever since. In 2004, the book was returned to the best seller list when chosen by the television host Oprah Winfrey for Oprah's Book Club. The novel helped prepare Americans of the 1930s to consider Chinese as allies in the coming war with Japan.
A Broadway stage adaptation was produced by the Theatre Guild in 1932, written by the father and son playwriting team of Owen and Donald Davis, but it was poorly received by the critics, and ran only 56 performances. And for the none fiction books...
First choice is Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.


And of course everybody should read this...The Secret by Rhonda Byrne.

Crazy Sunday

Been out the whole week. My Ike was confined in the hospital since Tuesday morning. He was diagnosed to have Typhoid Fever. I don't know where he got it but what's important is God healed him. But now it is my turn to get well. I am down with a flu but I know with God's grace tomorrow I will be up and about and be able to report for work again. I can't afford to be absent anymore. I know my students are already waiting for me. I am already claiming it....I am already well and I will be working again tomorrow.

Anyway, it's another crazy Sunday. Today's theme is Log houses. I love looking at floor plans, few people know that once in my life I have dreamed of becoming an architect. I used to have a small sketch book where I used to draw floor plans. So I have been searching the net to look for floor plans that I stumbled upon this site full of log cabin plans. I love the idea of having a loft type of house. So here they are...

Crazy Sunday

In another Sunday morning time for another Crazy Sunday. Today's theme is cakes! Yes, designer cakes. Love to eat and admire them. Yummy!!! So here it goes...

First off is this cake that I personally designed for Ate Liezl's Birthday. It was interpreted by no other than Ms. Lei Tajao of Little Angel Cakes. We celebrated the birthday on National Heroes day and we visited Liliw, Laguna the tsinelas capital of the Philippines.

Here is another Cake by Lei that amazed me. I love the black and white motif and the irony of the sneakers and flowers.


Then I discovered this website full of yummy and eye catching cake designs. The site is called Pink Cake Box

A funky cake that I really enjoy looking at. I love the colors it make me feel energized and happy.
